Stage Talk Preview: Holiday Cabaret

Oh, the weather outside may be frightful – but really, this is Charleston and it’s still beautiful out there – but the calendar says it’s almost Christmas and that means it’s time for the Charleston Performing Arts Center’s Holiday Cabaret! This year brings a brand new show with some new faces and a mix of traditional and pop holiday hits. Give a listen for what to expect!

Cast

chanbrielle-profCHANBRIELLE BEASON (company member) is overjoyed to be performing in her sixth production with C-PAC! Originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Chanbrielle expressed a love for the performing arts at a very young age; growing up singing in the church choir, competing in pageants, and taking dance classes. She has appeared in several CPAC productions which include the Christmas Cabaret, Dreamgirls, the Revue, Nashville Nights, and DISCO. Some of her favorite roles include FEVER! (Janet Jackson) and Dreamgirls of the 1960’s (Diana Ross). An outgoing introvert, Chanbrielle is captivated by the thrills and challenges of live theatre. She is incredibly grateful to Kirk and Scott for the experience she has gained at C-PAC, and is optimistic about what the future holds. She dreams of one day joining the ranks of Covergirl models! Chanbrielle would like to thank her parents and grandparents for their unconditional love, and her family and friends for their unwavering support.

heather-profHEATHER CORSON (vocalist, ensemble) is a Charleston native and thrilled to be returning again to the Lowcountry – after recently graduating from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ and moving to Philadelphia, PA -for her second CPAC production, this year’s Holiday Cabaret. Her most recent credits include Dreamgirls: The Revue here at CPAC, Beth in Pierrot Production’s Little Women, and an ensemble member in DPAC’s Jekyll and Hyde. Past roles include solo and ensemble roles in local productions in Charleston, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and two step-out roles in Westminster-affiliated productions. Special thanks go to her teachers, coaches, and family for their unwavering support, and to the excellent directorial team, cast, and crew of the 2016 Holiday Cabaret for this incredible and transformative experience.

kat-profKATHARINA GARVIN (Table Tootsie, Nora, vocalist) is extremely excited to be back performing at C-PAC. She has been working as your Table Tootsie, Nora, for 4 shows now and had the pleasure of performing in Nashville Nights this past summer. In high school (many years ago), she performed as Mina Harker in Dracula; and at Emmanuel College, she starred in the title role of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She has a BA in English with a minor in Music and works as a paralegal. Katharina can be found Sundays singing at James Island Seacoast. She would like to thank her wonderful husband and two amazing children for their support, and a big thanks to Kirk and Scott Pfeiffer for giving her this opportunity. And a HUGE thank you to all of you that support the amazing C-PAC!!!

lakeia-profLAKEIA HODGES (Table Tootsie, Tessie; apprentice) is extremely proud of joining the cast of Holiday Cabaret. She is beyond EXCITED!! This is her third production with C- PAC since graduating from Charleston Southern University in 2015, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She fell in love with singing and acting while she was in school. Her most recent productions have been Dreamgirls of the 1960s and DISCO. Currently, she participates in open mics and salsa classes and events. Hodges realized that since she had so much energy, why not be surrounded by individuals that possess the same amount of passion for the arts and the love for Christmas! It’s “A time of joy, love, cheers and a time for making memories to last throughout the year”. ENJOY THE SHOW!!

maureen-profMAUREEN REMEROWSKI (lead vocalist) is in her second season as a company performer with C-PAC and can’t wait for you to see and hear all the surprises of Holiday Cabaret! A graduate of Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, PA, she obtained her B.A. in Theatre Arts. Some favorite theatre credits include Some Enchanted Evening (Nellie), Cabaret (Sally Bowles), and Leader of the Pack: The Ellie Greenwich Musical (Ellie Greenwich). Maureen has appeared at special events and weddings across the Midwest and Northeast regions. Favorites include: walking the runway at the National Bridal Market in Chicago, IL and singing the National Anthem for the Cleveland Indians (her hometown). Maureen has written and recorded many songs in Chicago, IL. A few are featured on the soundtrack of the locally-shot film “Of Boys and Men” starring Angela Basset. Maureen recently traveled to Poland where she assisted a family in bringing their four adopted children to the States. She is a certified PiYo instructor and teaches drama with C-PAC’s Kids On Stage In Schools program. Thank you Kirk and Scott, not only for this opportunity, but for all your hard work and efforts in making C-PAC great and helping me do my best! Thank you cast and crew, you all are truly amazing people!

savannah-profSAVANNAH SCHOENBORN (company member) has been dancing for 17 years. She has studied and performed many different styles including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, lyrical, aerial work, and pom. She has been in countless performances and events: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, football and basketball games, and dance competitions; and has danced at the 2010 Orange Bowl Halftime Performance. During her undergrad at Winthrop University, Savannah had many opportunities to perform inside and outside of the university including: Winthrop Dance Theatre, Winthrop Repertory Group, Rock Hill’s Christmasville Rockettes, American Dance Festival and has performed for Winthrop’s Medal of Honor, American College Dance Association. Savannah danced in Charlotte, NC with local companies such as Triptych Collective and Mark Dance Company. She worked on Carnival Cruise Lines as a Youth Staff/Character Performer and she worked for Carowinds as a dancer for their night show Luminate.

sarah-profSARAH M. TAYLOR (company member) is a native of Charleston, South Carolina who recently received her BA in Theatre from the College of Charleston. Under the mentorship and guidance of Myra Chamble (Artistic Dir., Cannon Street YMCA), she has been dancing since the age of 4 (Ballet, Tap, African, Hip Hop, Modern, Jazz). She is a dance instructor at the Y-Dance Program. Along with appearing on Broadway and screen, she aspires to one day own her own dance company. Sarah made her stage C-PAC debut with Dreamgirls: The Revue last season.

brandon-profBRANDON WALLER (Guest Artist, lead vocalist) is originally from Philadelphia, PA and has been living in South Carolina since the age of 14. He attended an art-focused high school before being accepted into Newberry College. Brandon double-majored in voice and church music, with an emphasis in voice. During those years he traveled with various ensembles performing opera/classical, jazz, and gospel music around the US. During his time in college, he worked on the set of the first Hunger Games film as a featured extra for nearly 3months. As an experienced fashion model, he has participated in events such as Charleston Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. He also trains aspiring fashion models and has even casted for Atlanta’s Men style weekend. One of his greatest passions is helping people to develop to their highest potential and he truly enjoys teaching vocalists and shaping their musicality. “I believe the greatest gift I was given is the ability to honor God with what He has given me.”

tifanyTIFFANY WEST (company member, dance captain, company manager) is in her third year as a company performer and Holiday Cabaret marks her fourteenth production with C-PAC! Originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina she has been dancing for over 20 years; and has studied Acting, Voice, and Dance with C-PAC’s South Carolina Musical Theatre Conservatory, and continues to study with C-PAC’s Artistic Director, Kirk Pfeiffer. Tiffany sits on the Board of Directors for C-PAC and is thrilled to continue her role as dance captain and now company manager. Her C-PAC credits include: Santa’s Naughty & Nice Burlesque; The Charleston; Santa’s Fancy Femmes & Follies; FEVER (2014 & 2016), Charleston, The Musical; Summer Lovin’; Duke: King of Jazz; Christmas Cabaret; DreamGirls the Revue; Nashville Nights; Dream Girls of the 1960s; and DISCO. She wants to thank her family, friends, fellow cast mates, and co-workers for their unwavering support as she pursues her dreams of being on stage; and most of all, Kirk and Scott for the continuous opportunity to do so! She dedicates her future performances in memory of “Momma Sue”.
